Almost every incident at Dahab's Blue Hole involves recreational divers attempting the Arch, a 56-metre saddle that is squarely technical territory. On a standard recreational profile, the Blue Hole is one of the calmest, shallowest and most forgiving dives in Egypt.
Our standard route enters at the Bells, drops to 27 metres, then drifts north along the wall at 15–18 metres before crossing the saddle into the Hole at 7 metres. No overhead, no decompression, no deep stop.
Ask any operator three questions before booking: what is the maximum planned depth, how many divers per guide, and is oxygen carried on site. If the answers are not 30 metres, four, and yes, book elsewhere.
